And in 2008, things have not changed. Cloverfield opened huge proving a PG-13 monster movie could make big bucks. Even Eli Roth is now talking about making a PG-13 mass-destruction film. But now word comes in from Anne Thompson that the Halcyon Company are aiming for a PG-13 rating for Terminator 4. |

The Universal Pictures release was written by Sam and his brot...her, Ivan Raimi. It is a morality tale about the unwitting recipient of a supernatural curse. Alison Lohman and Justin Long were previously-announced as starring in the film. Lohman replaced Ellen Page in the lead role, as Page had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. |

 Review: CloverfieldCategory: Cinema & TV - Posted by: rapvirus on Jan 22nd, 2008The film begins as a video depicting a government document, like a black box that recalls wreckage in airplane or train accidents, supposedly confiscated into the hands of experts. "Cloverfield" is the labeled government name of the amateur documenta...ry. It's probably the supreme amateur documentary revealing the best footage of how it all went down . Now it's going to play back to the audience in an unabridged "Blair Witch Project" format. What we start with is the obligatory character introductions including a bunch of twenty-somethings bidding their friend Rob (Michael Stahl-David) a farewell party before he embarks to Japan for work occupation. Hud (T.J. Miller) is the best friend and dependable wisecrack assigned to videotape the party and record testimonials from friends at the Manhattan apartment soiree. We get the standard boy-girl gossip and learn that Rob is in love with Beth (Odette Yustman), the vulnerable svelte hourglass-shaped hottie, although she's in the arms of another guy. |
