Michelle Williams & Spike Jones Step OutCategory: Cinema & TV - Posted by: rapvirus on Aug 17th, 2008Director Spike Jonze keeps his arm wrapped around actress girlfriend Michelle Williams after a romantic dinner in Brooklyn on Saturday. The couple was also spotted getting cozy together in L.A. earlier this month. Michelle, 27, and Spike, 38, met ...when Michelle auditioned for Where the Wild Things Are, which Spike directed. Jonze recently produced the actress’ upcoming film Synecdoche, New York. Jonze, who was last romantically linked to Drew Barrymore, was previously married to fellow filmmaker Sofia Coppola — they called it quits in 2003. |

Michelle Williams dating director Spike JonzeCategory: Cinema & TV - Posted by: rapvirus on Jul 26th, 2008Michelle Williams is dating director Spike Jonze. Spike is the director of the upcoming film Where the Wild Things Are and is currently getting his nuts kicked in for having the audacity to make a kid's movie devoid of fart jokes. But at least he get...s to have sex with someone who will constantly compare him to Heath Ledger. Wow, I really suck at cheering people up. Star reports: "Michelle kissed Spike with a closed mouth on the corner of his lips," says an eyewitness who saw the couple together the morning of July 2 leaving Spike's Manhattan apartment. "There was definitely a little bit of caressing going on. She was clutching his arm. The body language was very romantic." Okay, I'm willing to believe Michelle Williams is dating Spike Jonze. They're both weird; it works. But here's where Star lost me: "Michelle kissed Spike with a closed mouth on the corner of his lips." Who the hell talks like that? May I suggest a more believable dialog: "Tipping his top hat towards the lady, he offered his hand, and together they hailed a horseless carriage. Perhaps a promenade at the tavern would find this evening well. Afterward, sir and madam retired to their quarters for carnal pleasures punctuated with scones and haberdashery." It's almost like you're there! |

New York City’s West Village to promote his new album Here I Stand. And during his appearance on MTV’s Total Request Live this past Tuesday, Usher took a moment and unleashed his frustration with the rumors that have been circulating about him and his wife. “There was a little rumor earlier this week about [my wife and I] separating. It ain’t true. [We’re] in love. Matter of fact, I’m tired of people continuing to talk so much trash about me. ... My wife is not 40 years old. I love her to death and I’m a black, strong man in America standing up for my people—as a man to my wife, to my son, to my family.” |

Scarlett Johansson Says She’s a Decent SingerCategory: Cinema & TV - Posted by: rapvirus on May 24th, 2008Scarlett Johansson spent days trying to record owl noises while recording her new album. The 'Lost in Translation' actress was so determined to incorporate unique sounds on her debut LP 'Anywhere I Lay My Head' she even taped the call of the no...cturnal birds. She said: "I spent days trying to record owls. I would hear them and then run outside to find them. My producer David Sitek told me to keep a mini-recorder with me all the time and record sounds I liked. That was the most elusive thing we recorded - the owls. We recorded all kinds of stuff - even rainstorms." Scarlett couldn't care less about the criticism her album has received, because she is confident she has a good voice. She added to NME magazine: "I think a lot of actors have good voices. We are mimics. If you were to hum something now, I'd probably be able to sing it right back to you. I'm a pretty decent singer." |

Heath Worth a Helluva Lot More Than $145KCategory: Cinema & TV - Posted by: rapvirus on Mar 26th, 2008There have been news reports that Heath Ledger left a grand total of $145,000 in his estate, and, as a result, his daughter might not be taken care of properly -- BOGUS! True, we know the will lists $145,000 in assets. But here's the deal. The wil...l was drafted in 2003. Since then, sources say, Heath accumulated lots of jack, from movies like "Lords of Dogtown," "The Brothers Grimm," "Brokeback Mountain," "Casanova," "Candy," "I'm Not There" and "The Dark Knight." We're told Heath has considerably more assets than the $145k. On top of that, sources say he lived all over the world and was smart enough to know all of his money shouldn't sit in the U.S., where taxes are a bitch. On the other hand, one of Heath's uncles has said the late actor's estate is valued at $60 mil. We're told that's absurd as well (on the high side), and the uncle doesn't know jack since he's been estranged from the family as well. Bottom line -- Matilda will be fine, and there's a lot of $$$ on the line. |

Smaller films in Oscar spotlightCategory: Cinema & TV - Posted by: rapvirus on Jan 31st, 2008Cast an eye down this year's Oscar shortlist and you will see two contrasting kinds of movies. On the one hand you have violent, downbeat, male-dominated dramas like No Country For Old Men and There Will Be Blood. On the other you will find smaller..., more gentle fare notable for having female talent both in front of and behind the camera. In terms of scale, too, the nominations seem to cover both ends of the spectrum. In one corner you have the epic sweep of British hopeful Atonement and the bloody Grand Guignol of Sweeney Todd. And then you have quieter, more delicate stories tackling such difficult subjects as teenage pregnancy, senile dementia and - in the case of Julian Schnabel's The Diving Bell and the Butterfly - debilitating physical incapacity. |
