 Mary-Kate Wants ImmunityCategory: Cinema & TV - Posted by: rapvirus on Aug 6th, 2008You might remember that Mary-Kate Olsen was the first person called after Heath Ledger’s unconscious body was discovered in his apartment in January of this year. Interestingly, Mary-Kate Olsen is also the only acquaintance of Heath’s refusing to... talk to federal investigators. According to The Daily Mail MK is demanding “immunity from prosecution” before she’ll give any details about his death to the feds. Investigators believe the powerful painkiller [on which Heath overdosed] may have been obtained illegally and are desperate to find out where it came from. They contacted Olsen’s lawyer asking for the star’s help, but he has reportedly not allowed her to talk unless she is given immunity from prosecution. Everyone else connected to Heath has been interviewed by federal investigators. Everyone except Mary-Kate, who has refused to speak. Jeez, guilty much? Of course, once the media got a hold of this little tidbit, Olsen’s attorney issued the following statement: “Despite tabloid speculation, Mary-Kate Olsen had nothing whatsoever to do with the drugs found in Heath Ledger’s home or his body, and she does not know where he obtained them. Ms. Olsen does not know the source of the drugs Mr. Ledger consumed. These descriptions are incomplete and inaccurate.” Perhaps when under federal review, her decision to send her bodyguard instead of paramedics might be construed as “monumentally stupid” and “the final nail in his coffin.” Not to mention the all the decency laws she’s broken over the years wearing clothing that asinine. I’m sure there’s a substantial fine and mandatory jail time for those glasses at least. |

In a frankly inspired piece of casting it is rumoured tha...t they will be approaching Johnny Depp to play the role of the Riddler and attempt to breathe life into a character hammed to death by Jim Carrey in the truly awful 'Batman Forever'. Johnny's a lovely man so hopefully he won't prepare for the role in the same way as Heath Ledger did for the Joker (by seemingly going a bit dotty then dying). If this comes off it might be the first time the audience is cheering for the Riddler to give Batman a truly historic hammering. |

 More Details in Christian Bale’s Assault ArrestCategory: Cinema & TV - Posted by: rapvirus on Jul 23rd, 2008Everyone was hoping that the Batman actor might have been arrested yesterday for verbally assaulting his mother and sister — what with England’s silly Class 4 and 5 “verbal assault with an intent to cause alarm” clauses — but no dice. It lo...oks like there was actual physical contact between him and his mother. TMZ reports We’re told Bale pushed his mom out of the way during an altercation. She was not hurt and did not fall down. There’s a division of opinion on whether the contact was a “push” or a “brush.” Well, that doesn’t sound so bad, does it? I mean, who hasn’t wanted to push their nagging mother out of the way of the door so they could walk out of the room during an argument? So, it looks like this was all a big misunderstanding. Christian doesn’t have an unpredictable and violent temper. Right? Um, not exactly. TMZ goes on to say Bale was on the set last Friday shooting “Terminator 4.” During a scene, the director of cinematography screwed up a shot — at least in Christian’s mind. Bale went ballistic, screaming “I will kick your ass” along with other choice remarks. Several hundred people heard the outburst — including Military Police — which was described as “intense.” We’re told Bale was “extremely tired and having a bad day.” Okaaay… I guess… so maybe the day of the assault was just another “bad day” for Christian. He’s not like that all the time. *crosses fingers* Right? The Daily Mail says Christian can have a terrible temper. Instead of lashing out at his wife, he sometimes lashes out at people around him.’ Jesus, I give up. The only thing I got is that his mom was a former circus clown. And if there’s one thing my grandpa always told me, it’s that you can’t trust circus folk. He also told me that you couldn’t trust the Japanese and that redheaded people are lazy and that black people run faster than white people because they have an extra bone in their foot, so I wouldn’t exactly call him to the stand or anything. But hey, at least it’s something. |

But, while I imagine that Heath Ledger's The Joker is everything everyone says it is -- the best performance in a movie of all time, ever, until the end of time -- and that he deserves all the p...osthumous praise we can heap upon the man's grave (R.I.P. Heath!), can I just say this: Christian Bale ain't exactly chopped liver, people. Bale is top five one of the best actors of this generation, and along with Nolan, he resurrected the Batman franchise. He'll go down as the best Batman ever, and given the limitations of his character and that suit, I suspect that Bale warrants, natch, deserves some mad fucking props. So, go see The Dark Knight this weekend. Fawn all over Heath Ledger, rave about the man's performance and what a shame it is that he died so young, but don't forget about Bale, y'all. He's the reason there's even a sequel to Nolan's reboot in the first place. |

Most people picked up on the scene that I mentioned in the ...earlier trailer posting where Harvey Dent is behind held to the floor in a puddle of what appears to be a gasoline type substance (as seen below). Many people agree with my conclusion that this is most definitely how Dent becomes Two-Face. A much different set-up from the traditional Joker/Acid story-line from the comic book series. |

Palmer recently starred opposite Adam Sandler in Bedtime Stories. Bay also cast another Aussie, Rachael Taylor, in the original film.
