Nicole Kidman And Judi Dench In Talks For Broadway Musical Film Adaptation

Actresses Nicole Kidman and Judi Dench may soon be warming up their vocal cords for Rob Marshall's film adaptation of the Tony-winning Broadway musical "Nine." Both actresses are reportedly in talks to star in the film. According to the Hollywood ...Reporter, they would join Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard and Sophia Loren in the movie which is based on the 1982 stage production. The stage production was inspired by Federico Fellini's autobiographical film "8 1/2," the story of a film director who is suffering from creative block as he juggles the numerous women in his life. The movie was supposed to start production in March but the start date has been pushed back to September, which should work out well for Kidman who is due to have a baby over the summer. Kidman showed her singing and dancing skills in the film "Moulin Rouge," and Dench played Sally Bowles in the original London production of the musical "Cabaret" in 1968. Dench also won the Oliver Award for best actress in a musical in 1995 for her role in a revival of "A Little Night Music."
