Lindsay Lohan Voted Worst Actress of 2007

Category: Other  - Posted by: rapvirus  on Jan 4th, 2008

Lindsay Lohan gave the poorest acting performances in 2007, according to a poll of nearly four million British movie-goers. The actress - who was honoured for her contribution to the film industry at the Capri Film Festival in Italy on Sunday - was ...criticised for her performance in thriller 'I Know Who Killed Me'. Eddie Murphy also featured in the AOL Moviefone poll for his role in 'Norbit', while the film was considered to be the biggest waste of the price of a ticket. Matt Damon was recognised for his good acting in 'The Bourne Ultimatum' and 'Ocean's Thirteen', and Shia LeBeouf was named best newcomer. He also won best screen duo along with Megan Fox for 'Transformers'.

The Movie Drinking Games of 2007

The Movie Drinking Games of 2007

Category: Cinema & TV  - Posted by: rapvirus  on Jan 4th, 2008

Throughout the year, our own Kevin Carr has been dedicated to one thing: drunkenness. He has been slowly turning each and every one of our readers into a stumbling drunk fool with each week of movie releases. And as we close out our coverage of movie...s in 2007, we take a look back at some of his most ridiculous drinking games — some of which will definitely lead to death if done correctly. Also, as a bonus, we’d like to offer up a special drinking game for Awards season, which can be played while watching any movie that earns an award nomination between now and the Oscars.

Lohan performance voted worst in online poll

Lohan performance voted worst in online poll

As if 2007 could get any worse for Lindsay Lohan, now this: Moviegoers tagged her with the year's worst performance by an actress. Fifty-eight percent of voters in an online poll by AOL's Web site Moviefone gave Lohan that dubious honor for her turn ...as a woman escaping a sadistic killer in the box-office flop, "I Know Who Killed Me." The poll, which tallied more than 3.8 million votes, had more bad news for the starlet, who recently spent a brief stint in jail for drunken driving and cocaine possession and also attended voluntary rehab. Another of Lohan's films, "Georgia Rule," finished second among voters for biggest waste of $10 spent on a movie ticket. The No. 1 biggest waste? "Norbit," a slapstick comedy starring Eddie Murphy, whose performance in the movie was the runaway pick for worst by an actor.

Nicole Kidman NOT pregnant

Nicole Kidman NOT pregnant

According to her, which seems a pretty solid source, she isn’t packing a sex trophy. news.com.au says, “She’s in Australia making a film and her family are in Australia. She’s happily ensconced away somewhere having a few days break. It’s t...he silly season. As far as we’re concerned, it’s another rumor out of London.” Good to hear, I am growing tired of posting preggo stories and DUI debacles, celebs need to find something else to do. I really think we need another good ole fashioned car chase. Something super spectacular and fun to watch, something that has danger and intrigue.

The top 10 films of 2007

The top 10 films of 2007

In one of his famous stand-up bits, comedian George Carlin observed that every driver who goes faster than you is a maniac, while everyone going slower than you is an idiot. Similarly, film critics who put movies you like on their top 10 lists are ge...niuses, and the ones who don’t are morons. Nonetheless, we critics go on writing them anyway. It says something for 2007 that this list was a challenge to make — not because, as in some years past, there weren’t enough movies to fill it, but rather an embarrassment of riches. The ongoing Writers Guild of America strike no doubt bodes poorly for years to come, but at least we can look back on this year as one where there was always at least one or two movies to recommend at any given time. So with apologies to runners-up like “I’m Not There,” “Once” and “Sweeney Todd,” this genius/moron presents his 10 favorite films of the year.

Jessica Simpson is no ‘Major Movie Star’

Jessica Simpson is no ‘Major Movie Star’

Category: Cinema & TV  - Posted by: KingM  on Dec 26th, 2007

Jessica Simpson’s acting career doesn’t seem long for this world. For starters, despite months of denials from the Simpson camp, Simpson’s most recent film “Blonde Ambition” is going straight to DVD. Her next film, ironically titled “Majo...r Movie Star,” could very well be headed toward the same straight-to-video fate according to some insiders. “‘Major Movie Star’ isn’t financed by a big studio, it’s financed by [Papa Joe Productions], her father’s production company. He doesn’t have the kind of pull with Hollywood he needs save this film,” said one source, who hinted that Jessica’s daddy even tried to get “Major Movie Star” into the Sundance Film Festival.
