 Jon Favreau Still Not Signed to Iron Man SequelCategory: Cinema & TV - Posted by: rapvirus on May 15th, 2008As of Tuesday morning, Jon Favreau is still unsigned for a Iron Man sequel. After much harassment, Favreau revealed that he made $4 million for the first film and has a NET profit deal which would give him a very small percentage of the money once th...e film begins to turn a profit. But Farveau says he won’t see any money of that Net profit money for years, if at all. Jon claims that while Elf cost only $32 million to film, and made over $125 million at the box office, the film technically still hasn’t made a profit yet. That’s shady Hollywood accounting for you. Favreau estimated that Iron Man was probably made for around $140 million. And while all the stars of the first film are signed to three films, Farveau admits that doesn’t necessarily mean they have to come back. |

Morgan Freeman and John Goodman also are in discussions to co-star. "...Islands" centers on the various life stages of a reclusive male painter named Thomas Hudson before, during and after World War II after he moves to the Bahamas. Like many Hemingway characters, Hudson, who in the tale has a stint working for the U.S. Navy and also endures a series of family tragedies, leads a complicated emotional life that he hides behind a stony exterior. Jones co-wrote the script with Bill Witliff, who wrote the screenplay for George Clooney's The Perfect Storm. |

Let’s face it, isn’t Brad Pitt on every project’s preliminary casting lists for dream stars? Of course, no offer has been made... to the star, and when one is, I doubt he would actually be interested (but you never know with these Iron Man $$$ numbers). Would Pitt make a good Thor? You certainly need someone with acting skills to pull off this role. The old school approach of casting a muscular model-like actor like Arnold could only result in an extremely cheesy film. |
