Criss Angel was not a happy camper at the Miss USA pageant this past weekend. His girlfriend, Miss Nevada USA Veronica Grabowski, didn't make the final cut and Criss was in a pissy mood when he ran into Norm Clarke, columnist for the Las Vegas Review... Journal. Apparently, he has beef with Clarke for reporting that Criss chatted with pageant judge Sandy Mecca before the competition, urging her to give his girlfriend "high marks."

Brianna Denison, 19, was discovered missing from her friend’s house in Reno, Nevada. She was last seen sleeping on a sofa. Her pillow had a small blood stain. Her personal belongings were left behind. The house door was left unlocked. She was miss...ing for a month and sparked a massive search, with donations pouring in to fund the search. Police have located a body in Reno. They confirmed that she was Brianna Denison. They suspect that she was abducted by a serial rapist. She was strangled and her body was dumped in the field for more than a week. It was not discovered earlier because of the snow that covered it. Reno Police Deputy Chief Jim Johns said that they had DNA to show that 2-3 similar cases suggested that a serial rapist was involved.

Undecided voters watch Obama-Clinton fracas

It has now become fully a four-person race as the clock ticks down toward Saturday’s South Carolina Democratic primary. Two married couples, the Obamas and the Clintons are battling it out over who should be the nominee. Making the point that South... Carolina has become a referendum on Bill Clinton was the e-mail from Michelle Obama that popped into inboxes exactly at the moment the former president started speaking Thursday in Walterboro, S.C. (population 5,545). “In the past week or two, another candidate's spouse has been getting an awful lot of attention,” said Michelle Obama as she asked for a $50 donation to her husband’s campaign. “We knew getting into this race that Barack would be competing with Senator Clinton and President Clinton at the same time.… What we didn't expect, at least not from our fellow Democrats, are the win-at-all-costs tactics we've seen recently.”

There have been reports that Hilary Clinton may be leaving the Democratic presidential race. The female presidential hopeful has so far suffered a huge defeat in New Hampshire, a serious decrease in national polls and low fund-raising dollars. “She... can’t take multiple double-digit losses in New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada,” laments one top campaign insider to the Drudge Report. “If she gets too badly embarrassed, it will really harm her. She doesn’t want the Clinton brand to be damaged with back-to-back-to-back defeats.”

U.S.'s Largest Solar-Electric Plant Goes Online

U.S.'s Largest Solar-Electric Plant Goes Online

Category: Tech  - Posted by: rapvirus  on Dec 23rd, 2007

We've written previously about the solar-electric plant at the Air Force's Nellis Base. The plant, which just went online this week, is the largest single photovoltaic plant in the U.S., beating out Google's by a hefty margin. The plant uses tradi...tional silicon PV cells and provides enough power to juice about a quarter of the Air Force base. Really, 14 MW is still a pretty insignficant amount of energy. And this plant doesn't approach the production power of Nevada-One, a solar thermal plant. But many people believe that the true future of solar power is converting the sun's energy directly into electricity instead of using the heat from the sun.
