There was a huge discrepancy in the casting. The original actress, Ingrid Bergman, was in her 20s when she played Ilsa in Casablanca. Madonna is nearing 50 and she thought she could assume the role meant for a younger woman. Madonna was confident that she could look and act like a 20 year old. |
