Amy Winehouse Smokes WeedCategory: Music Industry - Posted by: rapvirus on Jul 26th, 2008Amy Winehouse was photographed taking a step in the right direction yesterday — smoking a little Mary Jane while cruising around London with a friend. Finally. This bitch could seriously use a joint or seventeen. Mellow her out a little. God knows ...alcohol just turns her into the Tasmanian Devil with a beehive and coke makes her a snarling, clawing mess of insane, so marijuana is just the thing to quiet her demons. Provided you don’t have a two by four or a tranquilizer gun handy, of course. |

Flannel-Loving Olsen Scores a GigCategory: Cinema & TV - Posted by: rapvirus on Jun 27th, 2008Mary-Kate Olsen, who apparently spends most of her time throwing flannel-themed all-star parties, lined up another acting gig. An ABC rep confirmed that she will guest-star on Christina Applegate’s sitcom “Samantha Who.” She will play a ...self-destructive “bad” girl who reminds Samantha of her younger self (Samantha later takes on Olsen as a “fix-it” project), the rep adds. I’ve never even heard of “Samantha Who.” Seriously, does MK’s career really suck this bad? |

Seth Rogen "Not Going to Answer" if Pot Was Real at MTV Movie AwardsCategory: Cinema & TV - Posted by: rapvirus on Jun 3rd, 2008Who got the biggest buzz at Sunday's MTV Movie Awards? Pineapple Express stars Seth Rogen and James Franco, who said they were smoking "fake weed" as they presented the award for "best summer movie so far." They joked that MTV chose them becaus...e only "two potheads like us" would be willing to announce such a weird category. As they pulled out a "huge fatty joint" and lit it, cameras pulled to a wide angle and stayed that way until the two left the stage. (See more outrageous photos from the show.) New York's Daily News wrote that the "sweet scent wafting through the Gibson Amphitheatre suggested the herb was real." Added Robert Downey Jr. (whose film Iron Man won): "Thanks for that intoxicating introduction." Rogen refused to reveal if the pot were real. "I'm not going to answer that question," he told the Daily News. Asked what was in the bag, Franco told the Associated Press, "I don't know! MTV gave it to us." He said MTV asked them to do the joke, even providing them with the script and fake weed. Before they went on, he said, "backstage there was this big commotion: 'You guys can't [do] that.'" |

Or, if you wanna be street like hecklerspray, then he’s da man - right kids? Either way he’d clearly be a good man to turn to in times of need - you’ve got to give him h...is dues. Also, if you ever felt yourself thinking "I really want to listen to someone who can spell out their name in a variety of different ways," then Snoop Dogg is definitely da man – he has spent his entire career seemingly doing little else than pushing back the boundaries of that particular art form – you really do have to give him his dues. But is Snoop Dogg da man to turn to when looking for advice on the Democratic preliminaries? Shall we find out? Yeah, let’s find out. |

Everyone's cool with it, say dope smokersCategory: Other - Posted by: rapvirus on Dec 27th, 2007People who smoke marijuana overwhelmingly believe their friends, siblings and co-workers would condone their drug use, a study has found. A study of Gold Coast university students found marijuana users had a generally positive view of their drug-tak...ing, and thought the benefits outweighed the potential dangers. They believed cannabis would help them fit in with their friends, feel relaxed, forget their worries and enjoy themselves. Griffith University psychology researcher Fran O'Callaghan said the most surprising result was the belief that close friends, partners, siblings and work mates would approve of their using cannabis. "I think if you looked within their [social circle], there would be people who would strongly disapprove - but their perception is that, overall, most people are OK with it," Dr O'Callaghan said. |

Marijuana Laws Cost Government $42 Billion AnnuallyCategory: Politics - Posted by: rapvirus on Dec 26th, 2007Americans consume about 31 million pounds of marijuana every year at an estimated retail cost of $3,570 per pound. That adds up to an expenditure of $113 billion annually, all of it going into an illicit economy untaxed by the federal government. As... explained by a new report in the Bulletin of Cannabis Reform the illegality of marijuana costs local, state, and the federal government billions in tax revenue. According to the federal Office of Management and Budget 28.7% of the gross domestic product – the total economic output of the country in a year – ends up in government’s hands as tax revenue. So, the diversion of money into the marijuana market costs the government $31.1 billion annually. |
