Detective Sergeant Mick Todd, the investigating officer, said that at least 5 cars/taxis drove past the crime scene. The woman, 20, had finished a phone call at 1 am and the a...ttacker jumped on her. He tried to drag her into a car park of Castlegate Shopping Center but she struggled. The victim was physically assaulted on her face. Her clothes were ripped off and then she was raped. The rapist then left the scene on his bike, while she ran to get help. Detective Todd said that they were gathering evidence from 2 eye witnesses, forensic evidence, CCTV and were waiting for more witnesses to approach the police. |
