The red and black invitation for the May 17 nuptials reads: “It’s getting late so save the date: Ashlee & Pete, join us May 17, 2008, Los Angeles. T...ransportation will be provided to the wedding. You will be contacted with additional information.” In lieu of gifts, the couple asked that donations be made to Invisible Children, a nonprofit group the couple has been involved in for more than a year. This invitation was part of a text message and email campaign the couple hurriedly put together before their wedding to let guests know of their special day. As for a parting gift for guests (pictured below), on their way out of the wedding, they received Alice in Wonderland-inspired cookies (wrapped in a box within a box) that read “Eat me.” |

The wedding took place in the backyard of Ashlee’s parents, Joe and Tina Simpson, which had been ...converted into an Alice in Wonderland-themed spectacle. And there was plenty of security to keep unwanted guests out of the tents. Nicknamed “The Joe Simpson Show,” the wedding was described as “magical and beautiful” by an inside source. Not only did Papa Joe walk the “La La” singer down the aisle and give her away to Wentz, but he also flipped around and performed the ceremony. Throughout the ceremony, Joe, Jessica, and Ashlee were all spotted crying, with Daddy Simpson commenting, “Pete is a very patient guy.” |

Here’s what she had to say: Did you go to Katie Holmes’ wedding? Everybody wants to know that. No, I didn’t go because I was working on The Tourist. T...o be honest, we’re not really in touch. How has becoming a mother changed you? I feel like I didn’t have any relationship with my body before Matilda. Well I did, but it was just a bad one. After having my daughter I can’t judge myself in the same way. My body has done this totally miraculous but utterly ordinary thing. The downside is that my vocabulary has shrunk to the size of a pea. Since having a kid I just don’t have the same access to the world. I don’t see as many shows, I don’t go to many movies and I hardly read any books anymore. I’m lucky to make it through a book a month. So you start to develop in a much more non-verbal way, which can be so frustrating. Also there’s been a lot going on in my personal life and part of me is… I don’t know. I shouldn’t talk about it but it’s like I’m re-emerging back into the world or something. |

"We really wanted to give these kids a really wonderful and special Christmas," Richie said. "It's our favorite holiday." |
